UCL: Jude Bellingham equals Haaland's goalscoring record

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has made a funny claim after equaling Manchester City striker Erling Haaland's goalscoring record in the UEFA Champions League this season.

Haaland scored twice for Manchester City against FC Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

His brace against Copenhagen means the Norway international has become the first player to score in three consecutive Champions League appearances so far this season.

Haaland had already scored against Dortmund and Sevilla.

However, Bellingham equaled Haaland's record minutes later by scoring Dortmund's second goal against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday night.

His goal against Sevilla means the English youngster had also scored in three consecutive games, previously against Sevilla and Manchester City.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Bellingham had a hilarious reaction after learning that Haaland, who he played with at Dortmund, shared the record with him.

The interviewer asked Bellingham about his new record, and he said (via GiveMeSport): "You're only the second teenager in the Champions League to score in the first three matchdays. who's the first?"

Bellingham replied: "An English teenager or any teenager?"

The interviewer said 'Any teenager' with Bellingham naturally guessing Kylian Mbappe. "You know him very well," the 19-year-old was told.

Bellingham understood who the interviewer was talking about and replied, "Erling! Yeah, sure. I can't get anything on that geezer any minute, I swear to God. Sums it up!"
