Ukraine said on Tuesday that at least 19 people had been killed and more than 100 injured as a result of Russian strikes across the country the previous day.

"According to preliminary data, 19 people were killed and 105 others were injured," the Ukrainian emergency services said on Facebook.

Emergency services had previously reported a figure of 14 dead and 97 injured.

Massive retaliatory strikes hit Ukraine on Monday, after Moscow accused Kyiv of blowing up a bridge linking Russia with Crimea, a peninsula Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014.

Ukraine said Russian forces fired more than 80 missiles at cities across the country, including the capital Kyiv, damaging energy facilities, among other things.

More than 300 communities were without power across the county following the attacks, emergency services said.

Emergency services also said Russia carried out a strike on Zaporizhzhia, a Ukrainian-controlled city in an eponymous region that Moscow claimed to have annexed, on Tuesday morning.

They said 12 S-300 missiles were fired at "civilian" infrastructure, killing one person in the latest in a series of attacks on the city over the past week.
