Nick Kyrgios snubs Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic with Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal remark

Nick Kyrgios says it was harder to face Roger Federer than Novak Djokovic despite losing to Djokovic 4-6 6-3 6-4 7-6(3) in the Wimbledon final. The Aussie had never lost to the world No. 3 before Sunday but dismissed the notion that the game was the toughest experience of his career.

Kyrgios came up short against Djokovic in his first Grand Slam final, admitting after the match that he was impressed with the top seed's 'coldness'. But he denied the idea that the three-hour final was the "toughest" match he had played in his career, admitting that it was more difficult to face Federer than Djokovic or Nadal.

"I wouldn't say that," he replied when asked if Djokovic was the toughest opponent he had faced in the final. "Like I said, I thought I was putting myself in a position to win today."

And he placed Federer, 40, above the seven-time Wimbledon champion in terms of difficulty, adding: "But he doesn't make you feel as bad as Federer sometimes does. I think Federer is out. of the other three guys, Federer can make you feel really bad. He makes you want to leave the pitch. He can make things feel really fast. The pitch is really small."

Kyrgios snubbed Djokovic and Nadal for the Swiss ace as he compared what it was like to play against the 21 and 22 time major champions. "Where Nadal and Djokovic, they allow you to play a bit from the back," he explained.

"If you don't play very well, you struggle. But Federer can really take it from you and get you off the pitch very quickly." And coming back to today's final, he said: I wouldn't say it's the most difficult. I think of everything, the Wimbledon finals, the anguish of obviously having that day off from the semi-finals, I still slept terribly last night. Just all of the above."

The 27-year-old was full of praise for Djokovic's performance on Sunday, being most impressed with the top seed's composure. "Yeah, obviously very disappointed," he said after the loss. "I felt like, you know, reaching the final, there's always a bit of anxiety about how it's going to go, if you feel worthy of being there. I had the impression that the trophy was definitely achievable today."< /p>
