Photographic lens maker Tamron introduced its first lens for the Nikon Z mount system this week by introducing the new Tamron 70-300mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III RXD (Model A047). The telephoto zoom features a Nikon Z mount for full-frame mirrorless cameras and will be available to buy in late September 2022 for £700 in the UK and €830 in Ireland. It is also available for Sony cameras.

"Based on extensive simulations using the latest design technologies, the optical design of the 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 successfully balances its compact size and high image quality. The optical construction includes 15 elements in 10 groups, with a precisely placed LD (Low Dispersion) lens element to suppress axial and other chromatic aberrations that can occur with telephoto lenses.

At 300mm, a commonly used telephoto focal length, the design offers excellent edge-to-edge resolution. The new zoom creates extremely sharp and clear images throughout the zoom range thanks to TAMRON's BBAR coating, which is world renowned for its anti-reflective performance. »

"The AF motor incorporates a sensor that accurately detects the position of the lens, while the RXD motor provides optimized AF control. This enables very fast and precise autofocus and allows users to maintain precise focus on continuously moving subjects, often photographed with telephoto lenses. Thanks to extremely quiet AF, the lens can be used unobtrusively for photographing wildlife and other situations where low noise is required , as well as for shooting video."

" Designed specifically for mirrorless cameras and featuring an F6.3 aperture on the telephoto side, the 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 is the smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless telephoto zoom in the world. It is only 150.3mm (5.9") long with a maximum diameter of 77mm and weighs only 580g (20.5oz). Now easier than ever, photographers can take advantage of the effects of compression and the limited depth of field unique to a true telephoto lens. This lens is also ideal for users who want to reduce the weight of their luggage or lighten their load during nature walks. In addition to landscapes and sports , users can take advantage of telephoto shooting for a wide range of subjects such as portraits, birds, and occasional shots."
