Patterson Slow Left Arm- White, 24, and couture pitcher James, 23, both had two years left to fulfill their existing three-year contracts, signed 14 months ago.

They were due to expire in 2024, but they are both now signed with Notts until the end of the 2026 season.

Patterson-White was omnipresent when Notts won the red ball promotion in 2022.

He took 41 Division 2 wickets in 14 games at an average of 27.95 to help Notts return to Division 1 of the county championship.

It made the former England Under-19 international the top English spinner in the Championship this summer, while he also took 11 wickets in the One Day Cup and won a call-up from the Lions of England.

James, who played a game less, hit three championship centuries as he amassed 890 carries in 13 games, but injury hampered his chances with the ball.

"Lyndon has been limited by injury with his bowling this summer," said the Nottinghamshire head coach, Peter Moores. "But we're confident he'll be back next season, with the same impact as in the past, often at key moments.

"Liam's call-ups to the Lions were just the reward for his performance. We've known about his versatile abilities for some time, and seeing them come to fruition on the pitch has been great to see. He's taken on responsibilities over the past two years as the main spinner and he's done it well."

Both players have a connection to Worksop. James was born there, while Sunderland-born Patterson-White, who is seven weeks older, went to school there.
