Official Trailer for Thrilling Boat Race Doc 'The Race to Alaska'

The Race To Alaska Doc Trailer

"It has to be the one race where the winner is probably the least interesting thing in the race." Ha! It makes me even more curious to watch. Freestyle has unveiled the trailer for a documentary film titled The Race to Alaska, marking filmmaker Zach Carver's feature film debut. This originally premiered at the 2020 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and will be released on VOD in late November. The Race to Alaska is billed as a "humorous, biting tale about everyday heroes who push themselves to the brink in a 750-mile motorless boat race across the north -western Pacific, to the Interior Passage in Alaska." Blending raw, first-person footage with extensive aerials and in-depth interviews, it tells the story of the race's unlikely creation and the epic journey of those who answer its call. It looks insanely fun! Not just a boat race, it seems to be something else entirely, an experience that pushes competitors to the brink. Check this.

The Race to Alaska Poster

Set in one of the most complex waterways in the world, showing the difficulties and dangers of the grueling "Race to Alaska". Many participants will succumb to the winds, currents, whirlpools, fear and fatigue as character and craft are tested. 750 miles. Frozen water. No engines. No support. Described as the Iditarod on a boat with a chance of drowning or being eaten by a grizzly bear, this epic endurance race attracts fearless and off-balance characters who find their edge on the grueling course. Race to Alaska is directed by American filmmaker Zach Carver, who is making his directorial debut after a few other short documentaries before. Produced by Zach Carver, Ian Morland and Liv von Oelreich. This was originally shown at the 2020 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival a few years ago. Freestyle Digital Media will launch The Race to Alaska direct to VOD starting November 29, 2022, soon. Anyone interested in watching?
