Bardo Trailer

Here we go… Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for the highly anticipated and already controversial new film by Oscar-winning Mexican filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu titled Bardo. This premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival earlier this month to mixed reviews, and first opens in theaters for a month before landing on Netflix for streaming. The films follow a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary filmmaker who returns home and experiences an existential crisis as he struggles with his own identity, his family relationships, the madness of his memories. It's essentially an autobiographical film about Iñárritu's life and his many questions about everything - his connection to Mexico and his family and much more. Shot on a beautiful 65mm by Oscar nominee Darius Khondji (Love, Se7en). The film is Iñárritu's first film to be shot in Mexico since 2000s international sensation Amores Perros. Bardo stars Daniel Giménez Cacho as "Silverio", with Griselda Siciliani, Ximena Lamadrid and Iker Solano, as well as a massive ensemble. Nice choice of the Beatles song "I Am the Walrus" for the trailer - enjoy.
