"How are the boys doing?" "Rambo has more cramps than Rocky." Fandor has revealed an official US trailer for The Blind Man Who Did Not Want to See Titanic, a powerful Finnish film about a blind man who is happening in the world. Jaakko and Sirpa never met face to face but talked on the phone every day. When he hears of his declining health, Jaakko sets out to meet Sirpa in another town with only the help of strangers to rely on. The film originally premiered at the 2021 Venice Film Festival and also premiered at the 2022 SXSW and Sydney Film Festivals, stopping at many other international festivals along the way. The award-winning film stars Petri Poikolainen, Marjaana Maijala, Samuli Jaskio, Hannamaija Nikander, Matti Onnismaa and Rami Rusinen. Not only is it about a blind man watching movies, it's also about the experience of a blind mind that gives us an incredibly deep perspective of what it's like for him to be in the world. It seems like a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience, worthy of anyone's time and attention.

Acclaimed in Venice, Berlin, SXSW and beyond, Teemu Nikki's darkly humorous Finnish romance becomes a cinematically unusual action-thriller shot with empathy from a point of view superficial of a character (and real actor) blind and unable to walk. The brightest moments of movie buff Jaakko's day are shared over the phone with Sirpa, the woman he loves despite never having met in person. When Sirpa receives some difficult news, Jaako decides he needs to go see her immediately, but will need help from strangers between the house and her... what could go wrong? The Blind Man Who Wouldn't See Titanic, also known as Sokea mies joka ei halunnut nähdä Titanicia in Finnish, is both written and directed by the Finnish filmmaker Teemu Nikki, director of the films Lovemilla, Euthanizer, and Nimby before, as well as tons of short films and TV series. It is produced by Jani Pösö and Teemu Nikki. This was first shown at the 2021 Venice Film Festival a few years ago. Fandor will debut The Blind Man Who Wouldn't See Titanic in select US theaters on February 3, 2023, then stream exclusively on Fandor starting March 14.
