Oscar Isaac would return to 'Star Wars' if the project had 'a great story and a great director'

It won't be a battle to get Oscar Isaac back in 'Star Wars'.

The actor who famously played Poe Dameron in Skywalker's latest "Star Wars" trilogy has gone back on his past comments that he was done with the franchise.

“I'm open to anything. You never know,” Isaac said during “I don't have any real feelings one way or the other. I'm open to any good story. only thing that gets hard…as you get older and have kids and all that. Where do [movies] fit in?"

The MCU 'Moon Knight' actor continued, "If there was a great story and a great director and [Lucasfilm president] Kathy [Kennedy] came to me and said, ' I have this great idea," so I'm so open to it."

Isaac last played Poe in 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' and later starred in Paul Schrader's 'The Card Counter' before joining Marvel with the Disney+ series 'Moon Knight' opposite Ethan Hawke.

"I've been in green screen space for a few years and was desperate to do some character study," the infamous Isaac said at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, citing his love of "made in hand" at a Deadline Panel.

“I enjoyed the challenge of these films and working with a very large group of amazing artists and actors, prop makers, set designers, and it was all really fun,” Isaac continued at about the "Star Wars" franchise at the time. . "[But] that's not really what I intended to do. My goal was to make films by hand and work with people who inspire me."

Isaac then said he would "probably" not return to 'Star Wars', adding, "But who knows. If I need another house or something."

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy explained earlier this year that the future of "Star Wars" movies comes in response to the "amply clear" realization that new characters need to be introduced.

"What's unique about 'Star Wars' is that we're all one story," Kennedy explained. “George [Lucas] was always dealing with episodes. Ironically, he was serializing his storytelling. He was influenced by 'Flash Gordon' and the cliff-hangers on Saturdays in theaters. "Star Wars" DNA, which is why I think it's just organic that we made the transition to television."
