Pamela Anderson to host Pamela's Cooking with Love, a plant-based cooking show

Pamela Anderson will host her own cooking show focusing on plant-based recipes.

Pamela's Cooking With Love has been ordered to series by Food Network Canada, featuring the Canadian-American actor set to cook meals with on-screen chefs for his family and friends at his home in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, where he grew up.

Anderson's latest endeavor comes amid wider scrutiny of the media's treatment of her during the height of her fame in the 1990s, when she posed for Playboy magazine and starred in Baywatch. This was also the period when footage of her having sex with her then-husband Tommy Lee was stolen and posted online without her consent. When it was dramatized on the Hulu show Pam and Tommy without her approval, Anderson publicly vowed to "tell the real story".

The 55-year-old has just released a memoir – Love, Pamela – and stars in a Netflix documentary about his life, Pamela, A Love Story.

A vegetarian since she was a child and a vegan for more than three decades, Anderson has long been known for her animal rights activism, including posing for animal rights group Peta, protesting foie gras in France and even writing to Vladimir Putin in 2015 to block a ship transporting whale meat from Iceland to Japan.

Speaking to the Guardian, Anderson said the process of writing his memoir made him think: " Holy cow. How did I get through all of this? How did I make these choices? But I also have empathy for myself. I see I just didn't have the tools... now with the documentary and the book, people will see the whole character. And then - maybe - I can be a human again."

Anderson also currently hosts a home improvement show, Pamela's Garden of Eden, in which she renovates the house ancestral of his family, which has been renewed for a second season.
