Parkinson was frustrated with the decision to penalize Aaron Hayden's challenge on Jamie Walker and doubted referee Ben Speedie saw the incident.

He said: "For an absolutely void incident, the referee awarded a penalty. There are four players between him and the incident and he told me that he was the one who gave it away, but he has absolutely no way of seeing it so it is clearly guessed.

"The linesman has the best view of all, he's hooked up to the mic and is supposed to communicate and the officials are supposed to work as a team. I feel a little aggrieved by the way this decision was made, but we have to take it seriously and we had to react and I thought the guys reacted very well.

Bradford boss Mark Hughes said: "I think apart from a good save in the first half when Harry saved with his shins and the goal, we tried to keep that one in the game. gap, but it's tough with the big guys and we were a bit lacking in height and weight tonight, but I thought the guys were great.

“In my opinion, we fully deserved to win the game in normal time. Obviously you worry when it comes to penalties because it can go either way, but it was the right result."
