Poshmark parties, PoshFest coming this month and next

On Monday, Poshmark announced their upcoming IRL resale party in New York this month.

"Posh Party Live in NYC" is an invite-only event taking place at the Bowery in Manhattan on August 17th. Leveraging Poshmark's knowledge of data and social gravity, which has been key to the business since its inception, the focus will be on back-to-school trends.

Echoing the National Retail Federation's predictions that this b-t-s season will post a year of sales similar to 2021 due to inflation, Poshmark said its research from last week has already been proven. B-t-s items such as The North Face backpacks (up 80%), prom dresses (up 59%) and football boots (up 52%) are leading the way.< /p>

The Posh Party aims to take data, tools, resources, and expertise and turn it into real-time insights for its vast community of 4.5 million sellers.

Chandra will be among the New York-based dealers tuning in to the event, many for the first time since the pandemic.

If the August event isn't enough to satisfy a community quest, consider the larger PoshFest. The two-day, festival-inspired event is designed for entrepreneurs to network, get insider selling tips, attend mentorship roundtables, participate in closet consultations and sessions. in small, expert-led groups (receiving perks like free meals and goody bags included in the $279 ticket price).

PoshFest 2022 will take place September 29-30 at the Royal Sonesta Houston in South Houston, TX. Highlights of the event include a keynote from Chandra, who will provide updates on the business, and a series of entrepreneurial sessions.

Sessions are led by the Posh team and key Posh ambassadors from the Poshmark community, including Andrea Sager, Emma Coffey, Regina Barbour, Renée Suiter and Shaun Bartley. Many earn six-figure incomes from outright reselling, and Ambassadors are chosen because of their prowess and knowledge in used selling.

Panels will include "Connecting Through Content: Navigating Social Media and the Digital Landscape", which is a short introduction to Google search engine optimization and merchandising keywords; “How to Manage Inventory and Source Smarter Not Harder”, which details best practices in sourcing and inventory management; a “BYOB (or Building Your Own Brand)” workshop, which teaches sellers about web tools such as Canva for brand identity, and “Scaling Your Business: Financial Forecasting and Venture Planning”, which details the legal structure small businesses, among others.

The festival will end with a second-hand fashion show, which will be entirely live this year.
