Rashford reveals two keys to coaching under Ten Hag at Man Utd in 'fresh start'

Marcus Rashford says there is a 'buzz' around Manchester United's training ground as players get used to new manager Erik ten Hag's 'fresh' ideas.

United players not involved in the summer internationals returned to Carrington for pre-season training this week to experience life under Ten Hag for the first time following the Dutch manager's arrival at the club.

And Rashford says these players are already getting used to the "principles" of Ten Hag, as they also focus on having fun ahead of the new campaign.

"We have that feeling of excitement and buzz around the training ground again and so it's definitely positive for pre-season," Rashford told MUTV.

"It's about, first, getting the basics of how Erik wants us to play and the details, and second, enjoying it. In the first week of training, we did both and everyone can't wait to get on the tour and put what we did in practice into the first games."

United endured their worst Premier League season last term, finishing sixth and missing out on Champions League football.

And Rashford was one of many players to struggle, first under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then under Ralf Rangnick, who took the interim reins.

The striker believes a 'fresh' approach to the training ground under Ten Hag can benefit those who have struggled.

"I think for me it's just new ideas, new tactics and a new personality that has been added to the team. I'm looking forward to working with him, but also giving us the time to adapt to what he wants us to do and feel really natural doing it,” he added.

"It's what He wants us to do, because it's second nature to do the things He wants us to do. These things take time, but it's a challenge that we expect all looking forward to it.”

The rest of the United squad will return this week, before flying to Bangkok on Friday for their 16-day pre-season tour.
