We see daily that the British Conservative variant of Rishi Sunak hasn't evolved as much as he claims since the days of Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock.

Economic failure, declining living standards, declining public services...and the conservative civil war is as fierce as ever.

Sunak may find that Chancellor Jeremy Hunt sitting in next week's budget to let fuel bills skyrocket an extra £400 will burn any electoral reimbursement for putting out a £500 raise.

And the current Prime Minister, himself fined for attending a covid-breaking party with Johnson, is proving unpleasantly slippery and dishonest.
