Same But Different: Party Dress

same same but different

Welcome to Same Same, But Different. As Gen Z and Millennial fashion editors, we know a thing or two about shopping, for all ages, and especially our demographics. As we find the best products for you, we can't help but do a little shopping for ourselves and create our personal (age-appropriate) wish lists. And now we share them with you. Ahead, find out what's been in our hearts and baskets lately.

Dale: The Sigh. I don't know about you, but it seems like just yesterday we were prepping our closets for fall, specifically Meg Ryan Fall. But now that we're firmly in December, there's a new occasion to dress up, which brings me to today's topic: the holiday season. What's on your social calendar this year, Meg? Are you going out? Stay at home? All of the above?

Meg: Like most things in life, it's all about balance, at least in my opinion. This holiday season, I'm going to have my cake and eat it too. By that I mean I will be equal parts partying and lazing around. That's life. I must confess, however, that I really struggle to dress in cold weather. It's so hard not to feel shapeless in layers and bulky clothes. When it's cold, I just want to live in a sweatshirt and leggings, but that's obviously not always flattering. Alas, my hopes are not yet disappointed. I remain hopeful that this will be the winter when I will finally understand. And you? Have you already planned and prepared your holiday outfits?

Dale: Dare I say I'm leaving my dress planning to the last minute with the case of the holidays? NYE plans for this year are currently on hold, as are my outfits. My usual M.O. for parties is a zhuzh up version of what I would wear any day…and if I can get away with it comfortably, I will. Assuming I'm spending a cozy weekend in a cabin and next to a fire with friends - watching The Holiday - I'll trade the jeans for a pair of warm shorts and socks sparkles topped with a sweater (I'm nothing without my winter knits) for an easy outfit. To keep it party friendly, I'm going to focus on some standout jewelry and the cutest velvet Mary Janes that I've been obsessed with all year - ballet flats double as slippers, so there's that too.< /p>

Whether it's spending the holidays with family or celebrating the New Year with friends, there are many scenarios (and codes clothes) for which to dress. By the way, you have a birthday coming up (!!) - tell me what you're wearing, because I know you, a Capricorn, are definitely thinking about it.
