Sexually explicit graffiti was found carved into the toilet door near a bar in the House of Commons, according to parliamentary authorities.

Vandalism logs processed over the past 12 months reveal obscene scrawls found in the men's toilets near the Strangers Bar, popular with MPs.

Staff feared it posed a “reputational risk” if seen by the public, according to documents released after a Freedom of Information request by the Palestinian Authority.

A vandal also carved the name "Dave" on the stone in the Hall of Peers.

Cleanups were also needed when environmental protesters made a mess with glue and ketchup in the House of Commons.

There were 13 registered reports of security incidents mentioning "vandalism" or "graffiti" from January to November 17, 2022, compared to just two in 2021 and six in 2020.

Some 29 maintenance jobs were reported in the same period this year, compared to 20 in 2021 and 31 the year before.
