Steven Croft: Lancashire striker signs new one-year contract

Croft, a former captain, has played in every county game this summer in all three formats.

"I'm just as proud to sign this contract as I was to sign my very first with the club," he said.

"I love playing for Lancashire and having the opportunity to do it next year for a 20th season is a great feeling, especially after what has been such an enjoyable campaign for me on a personal level,” Croft told the club's website.

After joining the club's academy in 2003, the Blackpool-born striker made his first debut class two years later and in 2011 he took the winning races as Lancashire ended their 77-year wait to claim the County Championship title.

Croft is closing in on 200 premier class games and in the 2022 season he amassed 1,780 races as Lancashire finished second in the County Championship, T20 Blast and One Day Cup.

Lancashire head coach Glen Chapple said: "Crofty leads by example, he gives his all for his county and the leadership he brings into the dressing room is invaluable to what we are looking to achieve ."
