Suella Braverman has revealed that she sent official government documents to her personal email address SIX times before resigning as Home Secretary.

The cabinet minister, under fire from critics, made the startling admission in a letter to the House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee - after days of questions about her conduct.

Ms Braverman was forced to resign as Home Secretary during the final days of Liz Truss's premiership after breaking cabinet code in two ways.

In particular, they violated the Cabinet Collective Bargaining Agreement by sharing a document with a Conservative backbench MP and breached government security guidelines by using her personal computer "when not reasonably necessary".< /p>

But six days after her explosive resignation, she was reappointed to the post by new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, sparking outrage.

In a letter to the Home Affairs Committee on Monday after days of questions about her conduct, Ms Braverman outlined a timeline of events.

She revealed that after her resignation, the Home Office conducted a review of her personal email.

“The review also revealed that during the period between September 6 and October 19, I had sent official documents from my government email address to my personal email address at six occasions.

She added: "The review confirmed that all of these occasions occurred in circumstances where I was conducting Home Office meetings virtually or related to public lines to take in interviews.

"Some of these meetings were hastily organized in response to urgent operational matters relating to Home Office priorities.

"The review also confirmed that on no other occasion has my Special Advisor sent any emails to my personal account in connection with official business."

Ms. Braverman insisted that none of the documents were classified SECRET or TOP SECRET or related to national security.

She added, "I have discussed these cases with my permanent secretary and he acknowledges and accepts my explanations."
