Some 600 prisoners, including several terrorists, are on the run in Nigeria following an alleged attack by Boko Haram militants on a prison near the capital, Abuja.

Men armed with explosives burst into the prison around 10 p.m. Tuesday, freeing 600 of the prison's 994 inmates, government officials said.

At least one person was killed and three others were injured.

The attackers are believed to be part of Boko Haram, the brutal and bloodthirsty militant group linked to the so-called Islamic State.
