Please watch more short films! FirstShowing has proudly supported and promoted short films for over 10 years. We love shorts! Many very talented filmmakers working today got their start in Hollywood by launching with a short film (e.g. Wes Ball with Ruin / Dan Trachtenberg with Portal: No Escape< /em>). As a year-end recap for 2022, I've listed 14 of my favorite shorts below for some extra attention. Each of these shots is embedded directly into the post via YouTube and they are worth a look. All! Whichever one catches your eye, just click play and enjoy. Shorts are amazing because you can do it all – animation, sci-fi, musical, comedy, whatever comes to mind. From an awesome mashup like Uncharted vs Tomb Raider vs Indiana Jones to a beautiful tribute with Volcano Pilot to an inspiring doc like Joe Buffalo to a fun homemade sci-fi comedy like Black Hole. Creativity is at the rendezvous! And they remind us that a good story or a good idea can have an impact even in just a few minutes.
