India: Passenger shouts 'stay down' as plane fills with smoke

Passengers were terrified after a smoke-filled plane cabin left them struggling to breathe for 25 minutes.

The horrific incident happened on board an airliner after it took off from Goa, India.

In one clip, a woman can be heard shouting "bend over, stay down" repeatedly as beeps sound from inside the smoky cabin.

The woman is seen using a dim torch in an attempt to help terrified passengers on SpiceJet Flight SG 3735.

One of the passengers, Vivek Vishal, claimed: "SpiceJet puts people's lives at risk. We suffocated for 25 minutes and even the oxygen masks didn't deploy.

"Strict action must be taken against such a negligent airline."
