Therese Coffey endures embarrassment on her first series of interviews as the new Health Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister when her alarm is live.

Liz Truss' closest ally was speaking on LBC when her phone started broadcasting the hit Dr Dre Still Dre, featuring Snoop Dogg.

"Just realized the alarm went off on my phone - you get some Dr Dre" , she laughed. "It's just an alarm at 8am, sorry."

LBC host Nick Ferrari also quizzed Ms Coffey about her habits and physical health, amid criticism over social media about his suitability for his new role.

"As someone who loves a cigar, who loves noggins, and let's be honest, you and I could maybe lose a pound or two ... Are you the right person for this position? the broadcaster asked.

Ms Coffey smiled and replied: 'I understand I may not be a role model... I'm sure the Chief Medical Officer and others will continue to be role models in this regard, and I will do my best too."
