A third of Britons think the government has done nothing right since 2019, according to a poll that warns that ambitious 'red meat' policies are no longer working.< /p>

Research from the Policy Exchange think tank suggests confidence has plummeted amid growing fears over the cost of living and the NHS crisis, and that even Tory voters hold a 'clearly negative view' government on major issues.

When asked what the government had done right since the last general election, when Boris Johnson won a large majority, 30% of people wrote 'nothing' and many others responded the same way.

Other responses to the open-ended question included "f*** all", "not much", "no idea", and "absolutely nothing", as well as " lie", "line their pockets" and "make the rich richer".

Some Respondents have cited the Covid vaccination program as a success, and other positive responses include support for Ukraine and passing Brexit.

The Policy Exchange report called the findings a 'gloomy' for the Conservative Party, saying that although significant policies have been put in place, the dominance of public concern over the cost of living and the NHS 'overshadows people's perception of what has gone before ".

< p>"The government has lost the benefit of the doubt with many voters," he added.

"This in turn indicates that the announcement of policies ambitions - what is sometimes called "red meat" - in areas such as stopping small boats, is unlikely to convince unless real evidence of delivery and improvement is evident. dropped

Polls have indicated that the public overwhelmingly believes that tackling the cost of living and reducing NHS waiting lists must be government priorities for 2023, the same concerns affecting all age groups, social classes and political affiliations.

The highest priority for those who voted for the Conservative Party in 2019 was to stop small boat crossings in the English Channel, but a third of Labor voters actively opposed the same policy.

While the government is stupid...
