Tony Blair's longest-serving number 10 aide has warned that George Bush and his 'fucking lunatics' in the White House will lead Britain in trouble after winning the presidential election, according to a new book.

The claim is made in the new diaries of former Labor MP Chris Mullin, who was Foreign Secretary in the Blair's government during the 2003 Iraq war.

Mullin says that Mr. Blair's chief of staff in Downing Street, Jonathan Powell, said after meeting with Mr. Bush's team, shortly after the 2000 American elections: “They are crazy. Who knows what they'll get us into?"

EXCLUSIVE: CHRIS MULLIN DIARIES

Chris Mullin, who was a Labor MP for over 20 years and a minister under Tony Blair, won plaudits for the first three episodes of his political diaries, described as "wickedly prying" and "a treat to be savoured". The Independent exclusively publishes the fourth volume here.

The allegation is part of a series of revelations in Mullin's latest memoir, Didn't You Used to Be Chris Mullin?, which are serialized exclusively in < em>The Independent.

Waspish Mullin says Jeremy Corbyn was 'hopelessly unsuited to the realities of power', mocks 'dumb' Labor leader Ed Miliband, says London mayor , Sadiq Khan, has "no charisma". He accuses Diane Abbott of "talking nonsense".

He attacks former Labor Prime Minister Gordon Brown for having approved the plans of the Margaret Thatcher's funeral in 2013. It was "a huge conservative festival at public expense", says Mullin, describing it as "another of his many errors of judgement".

In contrast, the Left winger Mullin says he has changed his mind about former Tory Prime Minister Sir John Major, who he says is "a much more substantial man figure than he has ever been given". p>
