A senior aide to James Cleverly has called plans to expel Rishi Sunak from Rwanda "crap", leaked recording reveals.

< p>James Sunderland, conservative presidential candidate. Bracknell and the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Home Secretary said he had been immersed in the policy for two years, repeatedly calling it "crap".

Speaking at a private meeting In April, Mr Sunderland said: "I've been part of it for the last couple of years and I'm probably going to say too much."

This is an embarrassing admission by a member of the Home Secretary's senior team. in Parliament, and comes months after Mr Cleverly reportedly called the eviction plan "bats***".

Mr. Cleverly has repeatedly refused to deny using the expletive to describe Mr. Sunak's plan to send asylum seekers to the East African country.

On Sunday morning he first denied saying they were “bats***”. He told Sky News: "That's what Yvette Cooper claimed I said... she never gave any indication as to where I said it or who I said it to said."

The government has so far plowed almost £300 million into the Rwanda plan without deporting a single migrant to the country.
