Tory MP Julian Knight 'faces new allegations of sexual misconduct'

Four women have complained to parliamentary authorities about MP Julian Knight since police dropped an investigation into him, we have learned.

The new complaints are believed to be about inappropriate comments and behavior, according to the BBC.

The broadcaster also claims that five different women and a third-party witness raised allegations of sexual misconduct at his subject to the police.

The complainants are separated, meaning that nine women are said to have brought charges against him in total.

Allegations to the police and parliamentary authorities range from inappropriate comments to sexual assault, according to the broadcaster.

Some of the complaints allege there was habitual behavior, M Knight reaching out to women on social media to offer professional support before making inappropriate comments or approaches, the broadcaster said.

Mr. Knight, who is MP for Solihull, strongly denies any wrongdoing.

He said a 'unique' and 'unfounded' complaint was made about him to the Metropolitan Police last October .

The force dropped the investigation last month, saying no arrests had been made, but its request to have the whip reinstated was denied following other complaints.

At the time, a spokesman for the Chief Whip Simon Hart said complaints would be escalated to detectives "if appropriate".

Mr. Knight told the Palestinian Authority News Agency: "As I have said many times, I am fully aware of the circumstances of the single complaint filed against me to the Metropolitan Police and the motives of those involved in its formulation.

"This baseless complaint was rejected by the police without them even feeling the need to question me, which they never did.

"I have not been made aware of any particulars of the allegations subsequently made against me by any parliamentary authority.

"I do not no longer under investigation by Parliament's Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.
