A dozen people, including at least three children, were injured after a tourist train overturned in Mallorca.

Several passengers described locally as foreign holidaymakers were ejected from the vehicle on Wednesday afternoon as one of the carriages flipped around a bend.

The incident happened around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the popular beach area of ​​Cala d'Or, in the southeast of the island, made up of several small sandy coves.

Eight of the injured were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance while three others were treated at the scene.

Most of the injured went to Hospital Lllevant in the nearby resort of Porto Cristo, with the rest going to a private clinic called Hospital Quironsalud Palmaplanas.
