Truth about Liverpool 'wanting' to end Arthur Melo's loan after just two weeks emerges

Liverpool are not planning to send Arthur Melo back to Juventus in January, it has been claimed. On Friday morning, reports suggested the Brazilian could return to Turin this winter, but that has since been refuted.

Liverpool signed Arthur on a season-long loan from Juve on transfer deadline day. He became a late target for Jurgen Klopp due to the midfield injury crisis at Anfield.

The Reds were without Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with hamstring injuries, while Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are now out with their own respective issues. Thiago is back but the other three won't be back until the international break at the earliest.

Arthur has made one appearance as a substitute so far, in the 4-1 Champions League loss to Napoli. But despite his lack of football, Klopp is not considering sending him back to Italy.

The transfer expert claims Arthur will stay at Liverpool for the season. The player's club and team have denied reports to the contrary.

Arthur is currently focused on achieving peak fitness at Liverpool. He hasn't been named in Brazil's squad for the upcoming matches against Ghana and Tunisia, giving him the chance to continue acclimating to his new Premier League surroundings.

Former Reds manager and midfielder Graeme Souness has recently expressed doubts over Arthur's suitability for English football. Souness claimed Liverpool needed a different type of midfielder than the 26-year-old, writing in the: "There is no doubting the quality of Liverpool's latest addition, Arthur Melo.

"But will he be able to cope with the intensity of the English game, given that Liverpool play cup final intensity games every weekend and everyone still has to be there? I think there is room in this midfield for another high-intensity workhorse who can also deliver a nice pass.
