Vieira warns Crystal Palace stars it's 'important to focus' on Wolves quality rather than league position

Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira insisted that 'there are no easy games in this league' ahead of Tuesday's game against Wolves.

Vieira has also informed his players that they will need to improve their performance if they are to beat Wolves at Selhurst Park in midweek.

They played out a 0-0 draw with Leicester City at the weekend. The result puts the Londoners 13th in the Premier League, while the Foxes remain in the bottom three.

Crystal Palace have won just one of their last six Premier League games. Their only victory in this race came against Leeds United.

Vieira's men now face another team who are fighting on the wrong side of the table as they welcome managerless Wolves who, despite beating Nottingham Forest at the weekend, still have only a point and a place above the drop zone.

The Eagles will be hoping for a better result than they achieved at King Power Stadium, but Vieira is well aware that league standings can be misleading at this stage of the season.

He said: "It's important to focus on the quality of the teams we face and not on the table because it's too early to look at the table.

"When you look at this Wolves team and you look at the individual talent they have, we have to perform well, we have to play better than we did against Leicester to win this game."

Wolves are currently under interim head coach Steve Davis after Bruno Lage was sacked earlier this month, although Vieira has insisted this does not affect the way his team will approach the match.

"We are going to face a team that - when you look at the last performances they have had - are well organised, there is no doubt about the organisation," he said.

"I think it will be difficult because they will want to leave their position and we want to go higher and it will be a difficult game for us, there is no doubt.

"We don't think for a second that because of the temporary manager they have or because of the league table that it will be an easy game, there is no easy game in this league."
