Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin had his X (formerly Twitter) account compromised, which social media reports said caused victims to lose more than $691,000 to malicious links.

In a September 10 article on X, Vitalik Buterin's father, Dmitry Buterin, announced that his son's account had been compromised:

“Ignore this message, apparently Vitalik has been hacked. He is working to restore access. »

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT actively informed his 438,200 subscribers about the hacker's actions, which led to the illicit withdrawal of $691,000 from Buterin's subscribers via malicious links.
