Walt Disney Animation Almost Made an Alfred Hitchcock Tribute Movie Called Fraidy Cat

The plot of "Fraidy Cat" seemed very fun and intriguing, to say the least. The movie reportedly centered on a spoiled house cat caught up in a twisty mystery (via the Lost Media Wiki). While that alone makes the movie great, Stephen J. Anderson revealed a few new plot details during the oral history "Meet the Robinsons."

"The cat was, say, like a Jimmy Stewart character in 'Vertigo'," he described. "It was very paranoid, I witnessed a murder and I was trying to sort out what really happened. And it was done in a very dark Hitchcock-like presentation on the stage." p>

Now that's interesting. In previous reports on the film, a murder plot was never discussed. On its Disney Wiki page, the crime at the center of the film is said to be a kidnapping, although no attached source confirms this. Granted, it could be a memory error due to having seen the footage nearly 20 years ago. However, if those details were accurate, then we really missed out on a great movie, and Anderson agrees.

"That would have been really great," he said. "I wish I could have done it, but unfortunately it didn't work out."
