Watch: The adorable animated short 'Kayak' takes us on an adventure

Kayak Animated Short

On hot summer days, one of the best ways to cool off is to go out on the water in a canoe, kayak or SUP. And it's almost always an adventure on the water! Kayak is a beautiful animated short film created as part of a 2021 graduation project by students from the animation school in Avignon called École des Nouvelles Images. We featured a few other short films from students who studied at this iconic school, including the comedy Wild Love and the adorable Crush about cable cars. This short film is a simple, dialogue-free story about a father taking his young son for a kayaking trip down a river. It reminds me of the Blue Sky shorts on Scrat, playing all the goofy physical comedy. I'm sure anyone watching this will freak out when the baby flies, but it's all fun and games and it was all made on computers anyway. The calm look and feel and stunning colors are what stand out the most. Enjoy below.
