Watch again as Labor asks the government to provide a statement on policing the coronation of King Charles III following criticism over protester arrests anti-monarchy.

Scotland Yard regretted that the six people arrested before the event were unable to join other anti-monarchy protesters.

The Metropolitan Police were threatened with legal action even though no charges were brought.

< p>After the coronation, Republic Chief Executive Graham Smith said a chief inspector and two other officers of the Metropolitan Police had personally apologized to him for what he called a "shameful episode" after their visit on Monday evening (May 8).

"We regret that these six arrestees did not able to join the larger group of protesters in Trafalgar Square and elsewhere along the procession route," read a Met Police tweet after the coronation.

Rishi Sunak had previously supported the force in dozens of arrests of protesters amid fears they were suppressing the right to protest.
