Stories of miracles are encouraging. But they can be disheartening to those who have yet to witness their own miracle.

In this article, Pastor Bobby Scott shares the testimony of the miraculous healing of his own daughters, but he also has words for those who are not seeing the same results.

With compassion, he offers advice on how to pray and continue to live your faith, even in the face of disappointment.

Do: Talk to God

Disappointment. Sadness. Anger. To fear. Doubt. All of these emotions are felt by many as a result of unanswered prayers. All of these emotions can lead us away from God if we let them.

But instead of allowing them to do that, after unanswered prayers, talk to God. Come closer to Him in your sorrow and your fear, in your doubt and your disappointment. Ask him the tough questions and allow him to answer you in his time.

All the while, remember the truth about who He is. A truth that is not determined by whether or not we get what we pray for.

Bible Verse: Job 13:15 (NKJV)

Though he kills me, I will trust him.
Even so, I will defend my own ways before him.< /p>

At his lowest point, when death was a very likely possibility, Job said that even if God were to kill him…he would still trust him. Would we do the same?

After being disappointed when our will was not done? After not getting what we wanted or expected, would we boldly declare that we trust in God?

So I pray.

As you ponder this verse, may God enlighten your eyes to see your goodness in the face of unanswered prayers and disappointment.
