A. Strikes by the Unite union are set to hit Heathrow's Terminal 5 for eight days in May. They begin this week, Thursday-Saturday, as well as May 9-10 and 25-27 .

Other terminals are unaffected. The union hopes for "May chaos", but the impact should be limited, as has been the case in similar walkouts.

Some flights might be cancelled, maybe one in 20 – but these should be on short-haul routes, like Geneva and Dublin, where alternatives are available on the day.

Long-haul services should work normally.
