Wimbledon protester 'banged his head against the wall' after being kicked out by security

A protester was promptly ejected from center court early in the third set of the Wimbledon final against Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic. The Serb stepped in to serve at 1-2 in the third after the pair split sets when a commotion could be heard from the top of the stands before someone deemed a protester was ejected by security. /p>

Kyrgios could be seen turning around in confusion as a spectator at the top of the stand behind him could be heard shouting before being quickly sent off by security on center court. It is believed that the incident was a form of protest, although the cause is unknown.

"Some kind of incident happening away from us, we can't see it, but the players can and everyone is craning their necks up there," said Andrew Castle, commenting on the match for the BBC. "Some kind of protest maybe. I'm sure I'll be dealt with."

The crowd turned to watch before the person in question was quickly removed, and the referee called the first serve for Djokovic. Shortly after, a Twitter user named Drew Pavlou tweeted claiming he was the viewer in question kicked out for holding up a sign asking "Where's Peng Shuai?"

He tweeted, "I just got thrown down the stairs by Wimbledon security for holding up a sign that said #WhereIsPengShuai. One of them smashed my head against the wall."

The Chinese tennis player has been 'disappearing' since accusing the former Chinese vice premier of sexual assault in November. Protesters wore white skirts with red shorts underneath, inspired by former pro Tatiana Golovin, who sparked controversy when she wore red shorts under her skirt in 2007.
