Would the original ending of Don't Worry Darling improve the movie?

Finally, what happens in "Don't Worry Darling" will be revealed.

When Alice witnesses a plane crash on the hill outside the city, she goes on foot into the desert to investigate. She does not find an accident, but the strange mirrored building where her husband ostensibly works. When she places her hands on it, her mind is erased and she is mysteriously transported home. This building, it will be revealed, is actually an "exit" from a massive artificial reality that Alice was forced into. Alice and Jack are, in fact, living in the present day, and Victory is a simulation introduced directly into their eyeballs as they lay on a bed in a cramped apartment. Jack hijacked Alice and forced her into the false world, as he was unhappy with the amount of work Alice had to do and the little time they had for each other.

Project Victory was therefore not an experimental community, but an exclusive experimental program in which Jack was allowed to participate. Eventually, inside the simulation, Alice catches Sage. She smashes a glass into Jack's head, killing him. His neighbor Bunny (Wilde) explains that if someone dies in the simulation, they die in real life. Bunny knows that Victory is a simulation and lives there of her own free will, as her children are dead in the real world and seem alive inside. The film ends with Alice fleeing to the "exit" building and leaving the simulation, presumably to arrest her.

In another curious twist, Frank is murdered by his wife Shelley (Gemma Chan) as she pretends to take over. Shelley's ambition has never been discussed before.
