You can play "squid game" in real life with your friends from next month (without the dying part)

Is it a green light or a red light?

Interactive games company Immersive Gamebox, as part of a pact with Netflix, has developed an in-person "Squid Game" multiplayer game that will allow groups of 2-6 people to compete in a series of challenges inspired by the hit Netflix series, including red light, green light; marbles; and the "Squid Game" itself. Each time you lose a challenge, you lose a virtual life and each time you win, you earn virtual money in a piggy bank.

Immersive Gamebox's "Squid Game" experience is set to launch September 21 at nine US locations: Manhattan's Lower East Side; Rancho Cucamonga, California; Oakbrook, Ill.; Denver; Dallas; San Antonio; The Woods, Texas; Salt Lake City; and Arlington, Virginia - and four in the UK (Essex Lakeside, London Southbank, London Wandsworth, Manchester Arndale).

This is the company's first age-restricted game, aimed at players aged 16 and over. Tickets for a 60-minute round of "Squid Game" range from $21.99 to $39.99 per player depending on location. More information about the "Squid Game" can be found at .

"Squid Game" players interact with the company's proprietary motion-sensing technology and touchscreens lining the walls of digital smart rooms (called "Gameboxes"). "Reimagining Netflix's most popular show in an entirely new format gives customers more ways to stay connected to 'Squid Game,'" Immersive Gamebox CEO Will Dean said in a statement.

Also, Netflix has commissioned a reality competition series based on the South Korean scripted original; dubbed "Squid Game: The Challenge", which is supposed to feature 456 players competing for a prize pool of $4.56 million. The streamer also launched a second season of "Squid Game".

Immersive Gamebox (formerly Electric Gamebox) was founded in 2019. It offers original games and experiences created through licensing partnerships, including with Rovio Entertainment for the first-ever life-size "Angry Birds" game.

The "Squid Game" experience in Immersive Gamebox locations includes six different challenges, adapted from the hit show:

Red Light, Green Light: Use 3D motion tracking to navigate around obstacles and get to safety Dalgona: Cut out shapes in time using 3D motion tracking on your visor Tug of War: Coordinate with your teammates to win Marbles: Use touch screens to launch marbles in the center of the screen to advance to the next level Glass Bridge: Work with your team to solve puzzles to get to the other side Squid Game: Play the titular game, racing through the course and dodging enemies
