You've been love bombed

Giving big gifts early in a relationship is a possible sign you're dating a narcissist.

One of the first signs you're dating a narcissist is that you may feel "bombarded." of love ". It refers to a person going all out, too soon, with compliments, gifts, and communications telling them how wonderful they are, how perfect they are for the other person, etc. Unfortunately, this is often part of a narcissist's plan. to manipulate another person into falling in love with them, and is not made from a genuine connection. If you feel like your partner has done everything, too soon, and you wonder how your feelings can be so intense after such a short time together, it could be a sign that you are dating a narcissist. .

Ultra charming (until they don't get their way)

Many narcissists are said to be very charming, and this is one of the manipulative aspects of their personality. They know how to use their charm to get others to cooperate with them and give them what they want. However, their charm usually only lasts until they 1) get what they want and/or 2) are denied what they want. In either case, the charm quickly fades and other less attractive narcissistic personality traits emerge, especially if they feel rejected. Then all bets are off and you'll see them on the opposite end of the charm spectrum, where they can often become mentally and emotionally abusive to punish the person who rejected them.

Inflated ego

If the person you are dating is very full of themselves and very concerned about their reputation and who they are perceived to be, this could be a narcissistic personality trait. A mental health professional recommends keeping track of how many photos of themselves a person has in their home. Selfies are fun to take and send to a friend or post on the gram, but do you print your own, frame them and hang them at home? There is a clear difference! If your new partner has multiple pictures of him (just him, not with someone else!) hanging in his home, you may be dating a narcissist!

No "old" friends

An easy to spot sign that you might be dating a narcissist is the lack of long-term friendships. If you ask them about their friends and they reveal a tendency to cut ties - and often even a pride in cutting ties - it could be a sign that once they got what they wanted from someone, they throw away the relationship. Pay attention to how he talks about his past relationships: if he's always the hero or the victim, but never the problem, it could be a sign that you're dating a narcissist.
