A "Get Out" sequel? Jordan Peele will continue to direct "social thrillers" beyond the original five-film plan

Jordan Peele announced five years ago after the release of "Get Out" that his plan as a feature film director would include four more "social thrillers," as he liked to call them. The second was "Us" and the third, "No" hits theaters this week with rave early reactions already behind it. While Peele's original plan would mean two more social thrillers are on the way, the Oscar-winning actor said he won't be slowing down in the genre any time soon.

"I feel like I'm off to the races," Peele said. “I just don't know if I could limit the number of movies I have that are me. I'm starting to lose sight of what I would be doing if I wasn't making movies like this. So I would say that the project has been extended."

Peele will continue to make social thrillers his home well beyond his original five-movie plan. Could staying in this genre produce a sequel to "Get Out"? Peele is constantly asked about the follow-up to his directorial debut, which earned him four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director, and grossed $255 million worldwide. Peele won the Oscar for Original Screenplay.

"I get asked a lot [to do a 'Get Out' sequel]," Peele told AP. "Never say never. There is certainly a lot to say left. We'll see."

Asked by Variety on the red carpet for the world premiere of 'Nope' what he's planning for his fourth directorial effort, Peele replied, "I still have something on which I work and try to realize. As time goes by, the world gives me horrors to interpret.”

Peele said that with "No" he tried to "make a big summer blockbuster that you can enjoy however you want. If you want to come in and you just smoked a big joint and want to talk to your friends of social issues, you can do it. If you want to come relax and get away from it all and see Keke Palmer in the middle of a UFO, that's what we've got for you. Watch how you want."< /p>

"No" hits theaters on July 22.
