"AGT" Recap: Blind, Autistic Singing Sensation Wins Heidi Klum's Golden Buzzer
The first act to audition on the July 11 episode of America's Got Talent is Mariandrea, 14, a 14-year-old dancer from Mexico. She impresses the judges with her dancing and contortionist skills. "It was spectacular," raves Sofia Vergara. Simon Cowell adds: "You have a real presence about you...I think you're incredibly talented." Mariandrea gets a "yes" from the 4 judges.
The 82nd Airborne Chorus from North Carolina then takes the stage. One of their comrades in arms died the previous week, so they dedicate the performance to them. They sing a great rendition of "My Girl". Heidi Klum tells the band that they “sound great together. The harmonization was incredible. Simon says the performance was "the perfect tribute" to their friend.
