Arduino Cloud extends ESP32 support to S2/S3/C3 devices

Arduino Cloud supports ESP32 boards

Arduino Cloud is Arduino's integrated platform for easily developing, deploying and managing IoT devices. It supports a wide list of hardware, including not only Arduino boards, but also ESP32 and ESP8266 based boards. Arduino is committed to growing this list of devices and as a result of this effort, the ESP32 S2, S3 and C3 family of chipsets have been added to the list of supported devices.

One cloud platform to rule them all

As with Arduino hardware, ESP32 devices are some of the most widely used processors in the IoT world due to their low price, integration, and high performance. Both platforms have become the de facto standard for hobbyists and developers to create their small home appliances, but they have also grown in popularity in other industrial and professional fields. It's so easy to get started with them!

In addition, you can use the same Arduino IDE to program Arduino and ESP32 boards. And you can even reuse your code and sketches!

But what if I want to take it a step further and manage my devices remotely? This is what Arduino Cloud was designed for. It is an online platform that allows you to:

develop your software online with the Web Editor and store your sketches in the cloud to deploy and manage your devices with the IoT Cloud which allows you to create personalized dashboards accessible remotely from your browser or the mobile application

All this with just a single integrated platform and taking advantage of Arduino's rich collection of libraries, examples, and tutorials that help developers speed up with minimal effort.

Three new ESP32 flavors supported by Arduino Cloud

The three new ESP32 platforms now supported by Arduino Cloud are the popular ESP32 S2, S3, and C3.

ESP32-S2 is a highly integrated, low-power, single-core Wi-Fi microcontroller SoC designed to be secure and cost-effective, with high performance and a rich set of I/O capabilities.< /p>

ESP32-S3 is a dual-core XTensa LX7 microcontroller, capable of operating at 240 MHz. Along with its 512KB of internal SRAM, it also comes with built-in 2.4GHz, 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 5 (LE) Wi-Fi connectivity that offers long range support. It has 45 programmable GPIOs and supports a rich set of peripherals. The ESP32-S3 supports larger, high-speed octal SPI flash and PSRAM with configurable instruction and data cache.

ESP32-C3 is a cost-effective RISC-V microcontroller with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 (LE) connectivity for secure IoT applications.
