Arsenal vs Tottenham plus Chelsea and Liverpool matches could be postponed due to train chaos

An entire series of Premier League fixtures are to be rearranged following last week's matches being postponed due to the Queen's death. The domestic season is shorter due to the Winter World Cup, which takes place in November and December.

There is little precedent for matches being postponed due to rail strikes, but police resources are currently stretched due to the number of people visiting London following the Queen's death. Brighton's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace scheduled for September 10 had already been postponed before the Queen's death as train strikes reportedly prevented thousands of visiting supporters from attending the game.

However, it is understood the decision was heavily pushed by Brighton and Sussex Police, who wanted to avoid having fans stranded in the south coast city after what is often a heated game.
