Benitez rejects Nottingham Forest

According to a recent AS report, Rafael Benitez has dismissed Nottingham Forest following reported managerial advances.

There are big question marks hanging over Steve Cooper's head right now, with the popular belief that he's destined to be sacked at the City Ground sooner rather than later. Alas, after reports emerged that he would stay put for the time being, some wondered what chance he would have been given, while others saw it as more of a stay of execution.

Benitez is the kind of manager who tends to get tipped for positions like this quite frequently, but with other jobs, and with Forest's position looking pretty dire, you have to imagine he don't want to take the risk.

Cooper could always turn things around, but if he doesn't, we're bound to see a great hunt begin in the weeks to come.
