Bid to allow Jeremy Corbyn to run again as Labor candidate is rejected
A bid to allow Jeremy Corbyn to stand as a Labor candidate in the next election despite the continuing row over his stance on anti-Semitism has been rejected.
Supporters of the former leader - who remains suspended by the parliamentary party - tried to change Labor rules to allow him to run because he is still a member.
One told the Liverpool conference that 'it would be a gift to the Greens, Lib Dems and Tories' if Mr Corbyn were blocked and forced to stand as an independent or retire.
