In a contest that could prove to be a suspicious Serie A affair late on Saturday night, Botafogo will host Coritiba at the Estádio Nilton Santos.

Starting with the hosts, while Botafogo may have received a much-appreciated boost at Fortaleza in the September opener, it seems like it was only a minor boost for the Luis Castro's team. Despite still retaining their place in the Copa Sudamericana venues, the Rio de Janeiro-based side have only managed to win one of their previous seven domestic outings. With that downbeat form dating back to July 23, Fogo was also last seen playing a lackluster 0-0 stalemate at home to America MG. Likewise, in addition to drawing three straight blanks at the Estádio Nilton Santos, it's worth noting that Botafogo has shown worrying prolonged problems on home soil. With a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Flamengo last month, the hosts on Saturday have recorded just one victory in front of their own supporters since mid-June.

As for the visitors, managing to get back to winning ways immediately with a 2-0 home win against Atletico GO last weekend, Coritiba will be desperate to build on that success here. However, while Guto Ferreira's men may have picked up back-to-back victories at the Estádio Couto Pereira, they are still firmly in the thick of a relegation fight. Making the trip to Rio de Janeiro holding just a two-point pad on the drop zone, the Coxas continued on a nightmarish road run. Last seen on their travels being hit by a 2-0 loss to America MG, Coritiba have lost each of their last seven consecutive games away from Parana. It's also worth noting that with only one of the last five meetings between Saturday's opponents ending with both teams finding the net, we're backing what could be another suspicious affair.
