Book: Startup Boards, 2nd edition is available

The 2nd edition of my book Startup Boards: A Field Guide to Building and Leading an Effective Board of Directors was launched today.

It was a pleasure working with my co-authors, Matt Blumberg, CEO of Bolster, and Mahendra Ramsinghani.

Although the 1st edition was a good book, I wasn't particularly proud of it because I didn't feel like it was my best writing. We've worked hard on this edition, and I now feel it's on par in quality with my other books.

Effective boards are critical in the entrepreneurial ecosystem right now. While I hope this downturn will be short, I think it will be long and painful. Either way, highly functional boards can help startups get through this moment, while dysfunctional and weak boards can hasten startups' demise.
