There is no scope for changes to the new Brexit deal, No 10 said following the announcement of the 'historic' deal .

When asked if Rishi Sunak could return to Brussels to seek the changes demanded by the DUP, the Prime Minister's official spokesman said: "I think you have heard the Prime Minister ask similar questions today. We believe we have reached the right agreement for all parties in Northern Ireland.

"We are ready to continue discussions with these parties if they have any questions about the how it works in practice, indeed we did a great job before this announcement."

Mr Sunak visited Northern Ireland after reaching an agreement with the EU which, he said would be a "turning point" for the region after years of post-war Brexit tensions.
