British girl 'raped 10 times' in Gibraltar as police arrest 25-year-old Spaniard

A young British girl was allegedly raped ten times by a carer who has been charged over the horrific incident.

Pedro Luis Garcia Vallejo, 25, was remanded in custody and charged with ten counts of rape of a minor child and one count of sexual activity with a child. He is due back in court today. It is unclear how old the unnamed British girl is.

This comes after police on the Greek island of Halki launched a manhunt after another British teenager reported she had been raped by a tourist. The 15-year-old girl claimed she was raped by a 16-year-old Italian holidaymaker between 4.30am and 5am in the Pondamos area of the island last week. She visited a local doctor with her mother, 55, following the alleged attack.

In addition, a British teenager who was allegedly gang-raped on the island of Majorca by French tourists has injuries consistent with sexual assault, including grip marks on her arms, a-t- we affirmed. Spanish Civil Guard police have arrested five French tourists and a Swiss tourist for allegedly raping an 18-year-old Briton on the Spanish island two weeks ago. A judge in Palma, Mallorca's main city, said police discovered video clips of the alleged rape on at least one of the suspect's phones. And a medical examiner detected grip marks on his arms.

The rape allegedly took place in Magaluf, a tourist spot in the city of Calvià, a party destination very popular with young tourists. The victim said she met the alleged rapists on Monday night and they continued the party at a hotel as the bars and clubs were closed, but after they returned the men began to intimidate her and then to rape her, said the Mallorca police press office.

The Civil Guard showed up at the hotel after receiving a phone call from hotel security personnel who found the young woman crying in despair. Police arrested the suspects, all over the age of 20, shortly thereafter. The alleged victim received immediate medical attention and counselling. The Civil Guard presented the detainees before a judge in the court of Palma de Mallorca on Tuesday.
