Celebrity Gogglebox will broadcast reactions to Boris Johnson's resignation as MP and Rob Beckett and Tom Allen did not hold back.

The couple often seen laughing side by side have poked fun at the former prime minister who has come under fire in recent years.

Boris, 58, has resigned following a damning report in Partygate which ruled he deliberately misled Parliament about his illegal lockdown events at Number 10.

During the legally required nationwide lockdown throughout the pandemic, BoJo and several colleagues enjoyed each other's company at number 10, despite millions of Britons being unable to leave their homes.< /p>

The disgraced former MP lied to Parliament, claiming 'all guidelines were followed in Number 10'.

Following the inquiry, he announced his resignation from all parliamentary duties, but that didn't stop the stars of Celebrity Gogglebox from poking fun at him.

In an exclusive clip, the Mirror can reveal Rob and Tom's thoughts on Boris, with Rob believing his pal should stand for election.

"Oh, you know what, I'd love that, actually," Tom said before Rob added, "You would like someone to open a car door for you, give speeches, a few handshakes, visits a school. "

Tom joked, "Oh, I just need to give a speech, I just need to inspire someone."

"Oh, you'd like to go see Zelenskyy, wouldn't you, put on your green combat pants", Rob joked before Tom interrupted him by saying "Ah, I'm here in the warzone , it's dressing up every day , it's like a fucking drag race (by Ru Paul)."

Celebrity Gogglebox returns to screens tonight with some familiar faces as well as a host of new names joining the lineup to share their views on television from the week before.
